The “Born from the Soul” Foundation was born from a personal story, but also from the need of thousands of people to finally start talking openly about adoption.

It all began on the Instagram profile @usvojena__mama, where we shared our family’s adoption journey through everyday moments—without embellishment, sensationalism, or prejudice. Very quickly, a community formed around this topic: people who wanted to ask questions, share their fears, seek support, and access clear, reliable information about adoption.

Through thousands of messages, conversations, and encounters, one thing became clear: the problem was never a lack of interest in adoption. What was missing was a safe and honest space for conversation.

People wanted to see what life in an adoptive family truly looks like. They wanted to understand that family is not defined by shared genes, but by people who choose one another every single day. They wanted to see that love is not something that happens overnight—it is built through trust, patience, acceptance, and the decision to stay, both in the easy moments and in the difficult ones.

Over time, the community grew beyond social media. It became a place of support, shared experiences, and connection between families, professionals, and everyone who believes that every child deserves the opportunity to grow up in a family.

Out of that need, the “Born from the Soul” Foundation was created.

Our mission is to help build a society where adoption is discussed openly, responsibly, and without stigma. A society that understands the needs of children without parental care, supports families, and recognizes the importance of collaboration between lived experience, professional expertise, and the wider community.

We believe that no child should remain invisible.

We believe that children do not belong in institutions.

Children belong in families.
